23 Oct Top Chef Star Now in Downtown Tampa
True Italian hospitality is at the heart of Osteria Italian Bar & Kitchen, a new restaurant concept on North Franklin Street in Downtown Tampa.
Celebrity chef Fabio Viviani has joined forces with Lanfranco Pescante and David Anderson of the Nocturnal Hospitality Group, the team behind the popular nightspot Franklin Manor just across the street, to create a welcoming combination of rustic Italian market, fine dining restaurant, and refined late-night bar scene.
In 2005, Chef Viviani moved stateside from Florence, Italy, and quickly became a fan favorite on Bravo’s cooking show Top Chef. He has also been named “one of the most talented chefs in the world” by Forbes. His passion for hospitality and true homemade Italian dishes are what make Vivani, and Osteria, a welcome addition to the area dining scene.
Downtown Tampa features nearly 200 restaurants of varying cuisines and price points – with several newcomers arriving on the Franklin Street scene over the last few months. This influx is welcome extension of the many dining options and diversions of the scenic Tampa Riverwalk, and an exciting complement to the surge of new condominium and apartment developments throughout the area. The North Franklin Street area is becoming a vital link to Tampa Heights’ historic storefronts, revitalized homes and is own new restaurant options.
Harmonizing with the homemade Italian cuisine, Osteria offers a hearty wine and hand-crafted cocktail assortment. Homemade pastas, slow-roasted meats, wild fish and seafood and a rustic pizza selection are part of the full lunch, dinner and weekend brunch menu, that may be enjoyed seven days a week. Osteria also offers catering and private events. In the space formerly occupied by Franklin Street’s Fly Bar, Chef Vivani and his team also plan to open a Spanish tapas restaurant, Mole y Abuela, in early 2019.
