REDEFINING THE SKYLINE
Iconic architecture by Gensler
Inspired by Tampa’s maritime heritage, the tower’s stunning “full sail” silhouette has been masterfully imagined by renowned global architecture firm, Gensler. The visionaries behind some of the most iconic and transformational urban addresses around the world, Gensler’s globe-spanning portfolio includes the 127-story Shanghai Tower, the tallest tower in China and second-tallest building in the world.
The firm’s 50+-story design for Riverwalk Place echoes the subtle lines of sailboats, with a curved “arrowhead” profile arcing gracefully towards the Bay. Glass-railing balconies wrap each side, resembling two sails that join as the building rises to its top floors. The distinctive shape and angle provide nearly every Sky Residence with unobstructed panoramic views from heights unmatched on the west coast of Florida.
“We wanted Riverwalk Place to be eye-catching and iconic, of course, but we also wanted to activate the Riverwalk and contribute to the urban landscape of downtown Tampa.“
– Shamim Ahmadzadegan – Design Director, Gensler, Washington D. C.
On the ground floor, a dramatic, two-story arced entry leads to a double-height lobby with retail and amenities open to the public. Shrouded in a façade of gleaming copper fins, the integrated parking deck is topped with a rooftop bar, event space, and dog park overlooking the Hillsborough River.
The base of the building is lined with an array of riverfront restaurants with outdoor seating that overlooks a 150-yard-long promenade where an expanded Riverwalk urban trail, public park, and proposed marina provide a compelling new recreational destination for residents and visitors alike.
